This position is permanent and full time. Some experience in paediatrics is essential though not at a band 6 level.
Experienced band 5 staff, with little paediatrics experience should consider applying, as a developmental role can be considered.
A development post will start at band 5 and progress to band 6 when evidence of set objectives and competencies has been demonstrated. A high degree of dedication and passion for paediatrics will need to be demonstrated for this to be considered.
We are a children’s service based within Pinderfields General Hospital and Pontefract General Infirmary.
The successful candidate will take on a varied caseload of children between the ages of 0-19years. Assessment and intervention is completed in the most appropriate setting; school, home or at the Children’s Centre. All staff work closely within the children’s MDT, linking with all professionals around the child. The service offers respiratory and orthopaedic in-reach onto the children’s ward at Pinderfields in Wakefield and the candidate will have a role in this acute part of the service.
As a service we benefit from excellent links within the trust and local authority and education. The successful applicant will need to be aware of the statutory requirements of a children’s physiotherapist with regards to reporting to education.
The job is cross-site and the primary location may vary depending on the needs of the service.
You will be HCPC registered, with excellent clinical reasoning, communication and organisation skills.
This post offers an excellent opportunity to practice as a Children’s Physiotherapist and develop your “neuro” skills within an expanding, innovative and exciting service.
